TEXT “COFIRE” TO 888-777 TO RECEIVE WILDFIRE & PRESCRIBED FIRE TEXT ALERTS
The Crescent Ranger District is planning to conduct a 30 acre prescribed burn today, September 14th, 2019.
The unit, Bee 15, is located 6 miles south of Crescent and 1.5 miles east of Highway 97 on the Deschutes National Forest. This burn is intended to reduce hazardous fuel accumulation and help return low-intensity fire into a fire-adapted ecosystem.
The Central Oregon Fire Information website is supported by Promoting Ecosystem Resilience and Fire Adapted Communities Together, a cooperative agreement between The Nature Conservancy, USDA Forest Service and agencies of the Department of the Interior — Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and U.S. Fish & Wildlife through a subaward to the Watershed Research and Training Center.
