Firefighters Contain Incident #409

Firefighters made quick work of Incident #409 today, getting a line around the entire fire and hose-lay around half of it. The combination of ground resources, supported by helicopters with buckets, helped stop this human-caused fire at just under 12 acres.

Although 100% contained, the work isn’t done. Firefighters will continue to mop up hot spots, and hold and improve the containment line over the next several days.

Incident #409 was reported yesterday at 5:45 p.m. by Wolf Mountain Lookout. The fire is located near Forest Service 42 Road, about 1.5 miles north of Wolf Creek Campground and about 4 miles southeast of Little Summit Prairie. No road closures are in effect; however, vehicles traveling through the area should be aware of fire traffic and use caution.
