Rosland Road Fire Update

La Pine, Ore –As of this evening the Rosland Road, 4 miles northeast of La Pine, Ore, is 60 percent contained and remains at 393 acres in size.

Firefighters will continue to strengthen containment lines and mop-up hot spots within the interior of the fire tomorrow and for the next few days. Weather conditions remain hot and dry making it critical that firefighters continue working on containing and monitoring the fire to avoid any flare-ups of the fire.

Today, fire danger levels increased throughout Central Oregon to Extreme. Fire danger levels are expected to stay Extreme as fuels continue to dry this week with the anticipated high temperatures and lack of precipitation. The public is reminded to follow all Public Use Restrictions, which allow campfires only in developed campgrounds within fire rings. Anyone starting a fire may be held accountable for the total costs of fighting a wildfire.
