Following yesterday’s very active day of wildfires, including those in Redmond that prompted emergency evacuation notices, Central Oregon Fire would like to take the opportunity to remind residents in Deschutes County to sign up for Deschutes Alerts. Signing up for Deschutes Alerts will register your cell phone to your physical address to ensure you are alerted to emerging incidents in your immediate vicinity. If you have already registered your cell phone please visit the site to ensure your profile is up to date.
Although Central Oregon Fire strives to provide you with up to date accurate information on ongoing wildfires, there will always be some lag time in obtaining information on immediate emerging incidents. Signing up for emergency alerts, and monitoring the official information channels of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is the best way to get immediate emergency information.
