Increased smoke in Central Oregon from out of area fires

Residents in Central Oregon are likely noticing rapidly degrading air quality due to wildfire smoke. Although there has been wildfire smoke present in Central Oregon for several days it has become more dense as of the evening of August 16. This smoke is from ongoing wildfires in the Cascades including the Middle Fork Complex near Oakridge. The image below shows that central Oregon is currently directly downwind from those smoke plumes.
