A fire started at 1: 30 p.m. yesterday afternoon on the Ochoco National Forest near the McKay Creek Saddle, off of Forest Road 2735/103, north of Prineville, Ore.
The Bear Creek Fire grew to 25 acres and is currently being managed by a Type 4 Incident Management Team. Many resources responded quickly to the fire, including two helicopters, two Single-Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), as well as ground resources. Resources on the fire today, include 10 engines, a 20-person hand crew, and additional overhead positions.
