Condon, Ore. — The Lone Rock Fire is being managed under a full suppression strategy by Northwest Incident Mangement Team 2 (NW2). Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) task forces and the OSFM incident management team have completed their assignment and have returned to their home communities.
There will be a community meeting today, Saturday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Grade School Gym located at 392 Main Street, Fossil, Ore. The meeting will also be available on the Lone Rock Fire Facebook page.
Yesterday’s Activities: The primary mission of the day was once again patrolling and mopping-up existing lines across the fire area. A few areas across the fire continue to remain somewhat active but have not threatened existing firelines. Firefighters used hoselays to assist with extinguishing hot spots near Notch Road. Similarly, lines in place off Alder Creek Road continued to hold well. South of Campbell Ranch, firefighters completed additional line improvements.
Today’s Activities: Firefighters will be conducting focused mop-up operations at the remaining problem areas along the fire perimeter, specifically the spot fires near Flatiron Spring and Notch Road. Cleanup of hot spots will continue along Lonerock Rpad. Crews will also be working on hazard tree removal along Forest Service Road (FSR) 21. More containment lines are expected to be added over the next several days due to the success of work being accomplished on the fireline and favorable weather conditions.

- Umatilla National Forest Order Number 06-14-02-24-02 includes prohibitions within the Heppner Ranger District on the Umatilla National Forest.
- Bureau of Land Management Prineville District Office issued an Emergency Public Land Closure on BLM-managed lands along the main stem John Day River from Kimberly, Ore. to Dale, Ore.; and along the North Fork John Day River from Kimberly, Ore. to Dale, Ore.
Weather: Later this afternoon, a push of marine air into the Cascades will result in breezy northwest winds between 6 to 10 mph and higher gusts up to around 18 mph into the evening. Afternoon highs will remain in the upper 70s and 80s with relative humidity values dropping back into the teens and low 20s for the afternoon.

Flight Restrictions: A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place above the Lone Rock Fire area. Unauthorized drone flights (UAS) pose serious risks to firefighter and public safety and the effectiveness of wildfire suppression operations.
