Smoke Forecast for Cedar Creek Fire, September 18, 2022

Fire

The Cedar Creek Fire in Central Oregon is now 112,287 acres with 0% containment. Fire activity is expected to be minimal in the eastern half due to overnight rainfall, but the northwestern corner may remain active today. Forecasted rain moving into the area on Tuesday could additionally reduce fire activity throughout next week.

Smoke

Oakridge and areas immediately west of the fire will have the greatest impacts today. Eugene/Springfield may experience Moderate air quality today and USG overnight as smoke is pushed northwest. Wind shifts should improve air quality for areas east of the fire, although Crescent Lake, Silver Lake and areas southeast of the fire may still see Moderate to USG air quality throughout the day. Forecasted rain may reduce fire activity and smoke production starting on Tuesday. Please continue to check here and fire.airnow.gov for the latest smoke forecasts.
