Today (10/31), the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District on the @DesNatlForest will conduct pile burning in the following areas:
🔥20 acres north of Tumalo Falls in the Bearwallow Butte & Triangle Butte area
🔥6 acres in the area of Forest Service Road 4270 and the Cascade Lakes Highway
🔥Today (10/30), the Crescent Ranger District on the @DesNatlForest will ignite up to 234 acres of piles S of Crescent Lake along FS Rd 60 from Windigo Pass N to FS Rd 6020. Piles may burn & produce smoke for several days after ignition. Firefighters monitor piles until out.
🔥Firefighters on the @DesNatlForest plan to begin pile burning as soon as Wednesday (10/30) if conditions are favorable. They plan to burn up to 8,000 acres of piles across the forest this fall & winter.
